How wedding camcorder rental works

Book at least 3 weeks before your wedding. A Sony 4K camcorder kit arrives about 4 days before the day, your guests pass it around and film, and you send it back with the prepaid UPS label. Your raw footage comes within 24 hours of the kit reaching us, and your edited film within 14 days.

1. Book at least 3 weeks ahead

Pick a package, tell us your date, and choose the moments you want your guests to catch. Those moments go on the shot list in your kit, and we build your film around them. Your date is held the moment you check out, and you pay the full price then.

We need at least 3 weeks because every kit is put together, tested, and packed for your date, with time left over for shipping delays. Kits are limited, so popular weekends can fill up.

2. The kit arrives about 4 days before

It comes by UPS to any address in the lower 48 states or DC, charged and ready to record, so you have time to try it. If it doesn't arrive before your wedding day, we refund you in full. Your rental starts the day it's delivered and lasts the number of days in your package (5, 7, or 10), plus any extra days you add.

In the box:

  • One to three Sony 4K Handycams, depending on your package
  • A wireless mic for each camera, on every package except The Raw Tape
  • Your shot list and a one-page guide anyone can follow
  • A prepaid UPS label for the trip back

3. Your guests film the wedding

Hand the camera to a friend and let it travel: getting ready, the toasts, the dance floor, the after-party. A handheld camcorder is easy for anyone to pick up, and guests tend to film the moments you'll miss while you're busy being married.

The most common reason guest footage disappoints is that the camera gets left on a table. Pick a camera captain, a friend whose job is to keep it moving all night, and give them the shot list.

Your guests do the filming, so no particular moment is guaranteed. If you need professional coverage of the ceremony and clean audio of your vows, book a videographer for that and let the camcorders catch everything else.

4. Ship it back

Put everything back in the box and drop it at any UPS location with the prepaid label by the last day of your rental. Keep the drop-off receipt until we confirm it's back. Late returns are $99 a day.

5. Get your footage and film

Every raw clip is in your online account within 24 hours of the kit reaching us. Your edited film follows within 14 days, or 7 days with The Full Feature. Add a 72-hour rush edit for $199 if you can't wait.

After booking, you'll tell us the feel you want, the songs you love, and the moments you can't miss. We use properly licensed music, so you can post your film anywhere. Everything stays in your account for a year; download copies to keep them forever.
