What we collect

Your email address, when you start a film plan.

Details about your wedding that you tell us: your names, date, venue and city, rough guest count, the moments you want captured, the style you like, and how you heard about us.

Your shipping address and phone number, collected at checkout so we can ship your kit and reach you about delivery.

Your payment details, which are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe saves your card so we can charge fees described in our rental terms.

If you create an account: your email and a securely hashed password.

The footage your guests record on the camcorder, and the film we edit from it.

An anonymous visit ID kept in your browser for the session, so we can see which booking steps people finish. It isn't linked to advertising and doesn't follow you to other sites.

How we use it

To build your plan, take your booking, ship and track your kit, edit your film, and send you emails about your booking.

To follow up if you start a plan and don't finish it.

To send wedding-planning tips and offers, only if you tick the box to get them. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use your footage in our marketing without asking you first.

Who we share it with

Only the services we need to run the business: Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting, storage, email delivery, and bot protection on our forms), and UPS (your name and address, to ship and return your kit).

People who help us edit films may work with your footage. They use it only to make your film.

We'll share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Footage and films: one year after we upload them, then they're deleted.

Booking records: as long as we need them for taxes, accounting, and any disputes.

Your email and plan details: until you ask us to delete them or unsubscribe from marketing.

Backups of our records are kept for 90 days.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@theweddingcamcorder.com and we'll take care of it. We may need to keep booking and payment records the law requires.

Unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in any of them.

Children

Our service is for adults planning a wedding. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes and questions

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll email customers.
